Weight Loss Journey - Update #1♥

You know that feeling you get, when your clothes don't fit right and you just don't feel good about yourself? That was me, 4 weeks ago. And I know what you're thinking, "Alyssa you just had a baby a few months ago". But, I felt myself slipping into bad eating habits, and constantly using breastfeeding as an excuse. My friend and I decided to challenge ourselves and cut out sweets for 4 weeks.

 Here is my first update.

Newborn Pictures - Worth it?♥

As a mother to three and only having one child get professional newborn pictures done, I highly recommend it. As an amateur photographer I told myself I would take my own newborn pictures. Let's face it, after delivery, all you want to do is SLEEP! And if your spouse can snap a few pictures that's great but what about the beautiful newborn pictures you see on Pinterest and Facebook? Don't wait. Hire a photographer! I had the opportunity for a great friend to swing by a few days after Ava was born and let's just say the results were INCREDIBLE! I am so thankful she offered to help me with pictures because honestly, I don't think I would have ever gotten to them and here she is a month old!

Just a little...♥

I've been so wrapped up in posting Reviews and Giveaways I keep forgetting to post just a little about my personal life! I know a lot of my fans are extremely interested in how my family is doing since going GMO-free. So I wanted to take a little time out and talk about us!

We have been organic/GMO-free for about 3 months now and it's going pretty good. It really isn't a question like before. I use to question if this was the right choice for us and I'm so thankful we stuck with it. Everyone always asks me how do we save money? Or whats the trick? Here's my answer. I have no tricks and we hardly ever save money, unless something is on sale BUT it's worth it to us! Personally you have to want to make this choice not just you but as a family!! I'm extremely thankful my fiance supports this decision because it would be ruff without his opinion.

The Non-GMO Project♥

Before I began to explain my project, I'm sure some of you are wondering what is GMO.... GMOs, or “genetically modified organisms,” are plants or animals created through the gene splicing techniques of biotechnology (also called genetic engineering, or GE). This experimental technology merges DNA from different species, creating unstable combinations of plant, animal, bacterial and viral genes that cannot occur in nature or in traditional crossbreeding. Virtually all commercial GMOs are engineered to withstand direct application of herbicide and/or to produce an insecticide. Despite biotech industry promises, none of the GMO traits currently on the market offer increased yield, drought tolerance, enhanced nutrition, or any other consumer benefit. Meanwhile, a growing body of evidence connects GMOs with health problems, environmental damage and violation of farmers’ and consumers’ rights.
