The Lake Compounce Bear Creek Campground is a brand new 15 acre campground which features 20 fully furnished cabins that sleep up to 10 people, 56 RV sites with water and electricity hook ups, and 30 tent sites. In addition, five tipis have been added to the campground; each sleeping six and equipped with cots, electrical outlets and a miniature refrigerator. The campground also has a main lodge that features a general store for stocking up on camping staples, as well as a 24-hour restroom, shower and laundry facility. Each campsite has a picnic table perfect for games and meals, and a campfire pit for barbeques.
My family and I had the chance to stay a night at Bear Creek Campground. We stayed in a beautiful fully furnished cabin! There are two regular size bedrooms, a built-in double bunkbed unit in the hallway (across from the bathroom), and a loft above that will probably fit 4 people. The kitchen comes furnished with pots, pans, dishes and silverware as well as dish washing soap. There is an air conditioner with a remote control, flat screen TV on the wall across from the dining table, microwave, and free WiFi available. There is a fully working bathroom across from the bunkbeds that includes a tub and shower. I fell in LOVE with the Cabin we stayed in, my girls had a blast. They loved the loft, it was like their little hiding spot. The ceiling in the loft is angled so you can’t stand up straight, which was perfect for them! During our stay, the Campground wasn't completely finished. There was a lot of construction going on so I had to be very careful of the girls playing outside.
Overall, we had an amazing time. We roasted marshmallows on our fire pit, had dinner outside at our picnic table. We walked around a little to look at the Campground, please be extremely careful if doing so. There is a lot of gravel due to construction! Sophia fell a very times but didn't seem to mind. They usually have daily crafts and games for the kids. Unfortunately during our stay, they didn't. When I asked about the schedule for the activities the young lady explained they had nothing scheduled but set up a place for the girls to color! We did get to experience waking up with Kyle the Crocodile. Kyle is Bear Creek's mascot, the girls loved him!
The girls smiles never left their little faces! If I could, I would share a million pictures with you! We are already planning our next stay. Reservations for Bear Creek Campground are now being accepted online at www.campbearcreek.com. Sites start at $35 per night, and campers may purchase discounted tickets to Lake Compounce Theme Park and Crocodile Cove Water Park upon checking in. Group rates will also be available. Lake Compounce, is New England's Family Theme Park. It is the oldest, continuously-operating amusement park in North America, having its genesis more than 165 years ago in 1846! The park has had millions invested in rides and attractions during the recent years, and today is more beautiful than ever. Among other famous attractions, Lake Compounce is home to Boulder Dash, which has been voted the world’s #1 wooden roller coaster, as well as Connecticut’s largest water park. At “The Lake,” there are more rides, attractions, and FUN than anyone can experience in just one day...whether you're young or just young at heart. Take a tour on their website and you’ll see what they mean.
This was out first visit to Lake Compounce. The girls rode all the kiddie rides. Lily was even tall enough to get on the Wipeout with Daddy. She loved it, Daddy not so much. Lol! Unfortunately during our visit we were unable to try their new Organic Selects food items. The girls did enjoy their pizza and cookies!

We spent our afternoon in the water park, Crocodile Cove. The girls had a blast. We especially loved the Croc-O-Nile (Lazy River). Lake Compounce has tons of Water Slides and a lake. We spent hours in the lake, the girls collected shells and tried catching fish. After I finally got them out the lake, we hit Clipper Cove (A giant 300-gallon water bucket, water cannons and slides). We had so much fun at Lake Compounce and we can't wait to go again! If you plan on visiting Lake Compounce, enjoy $7.00 off the regular Admission gate price using promo code SUMMER2014.
I want to thank Lake Compounce and Bear Creek Campground for the amazing mini vacation!

Great pictures. The girls look so happy. I would like to stay in cabins more often, but my sweetie is a sourpuss when it comes to this. We did once, and I had such a nice time. I love being surrounded by nature. I also love water parks, they are so much fun in the summertime.
