Well.... That Happened♥

This post is sponsored by U by Kotex but the content and opinions expressed here are my own.

I know at some point this has happened to you. You think, my period is going to start soon, soon as in a week or two.. However you didn't think it would start TODAY! You know while shopping. Okay okay, you caught me. This happened to me a few weeks ago. I was in the middle of Walmart grocery shopping and in the back of my mind, I knew my period was coming. I was bloated, tired, and cranky! And guess what, my period started a week early. Totally embarrassed! I always try to track my period and keep tampons in my purse but I was not prepared for my period to come a week early. No purse, a screaming toddler and the tampon/pad vending machine was broken It was time to get creative, I quickly made a pad out of toilet paper. Finished my grocery shopping and thankfully grabbed feminine products to get home as fast as I could. Talk about uncomfortable shopping.

For me this was a temporary situation but for many other women it's not. Did you know, 1 in 4 women struggle to purchase period supplies products in the past year due to lack of income?

That is one too many! Which is why I'm excited to tell you about the The Alliance for Period Supplies, which was founded by U by Kotex®. This new national organization (founded in May 2018) helps ensure that individuals in need have access to essential period products required to participate fully in daily life. During the entire month of November, for every purchase of U by Kotex - U by Kotex will donate 2 products. Plus, Walmart will be donating $25,000 to The Alliance for Period Supplies. Absolutely incredible. Which is why I shop Walmart and U by Kotex®. My recent purchase of tampons and pads also helped a women in need. How awesome is that?

So, not only does U by Kotex® offer unscented feminine hygiene products. But by purchasing their tampons and pads at Walmart like I usually do, I'm also helping someone who can't afford period supplies. And for me that's the biggest win. WAIT, that's not all, Motrin and U By Kotex now have an offer on Ibotta you can also check out too. It keeps getting better and better, FOR US ALL!

  1. What a great thing for Kotex to be doing! I think that is going to make a huge difference to people. It makes me so sad that period poverty is a thing and women aren't able to keep themselves cared for during this monthly time.

  2. That's awful that people struggle to purchase basic products like these. Our food pantries take hygiene products, and it's good to keep this in mind that people can use a variety of things. Glad to hear there is an initiative like this!

  3. This is truly a worthy cause helping someone who can't afford period supplies. I may be more intentional about choosing this brand now.

  4. I previously worked with the homeless population and this was a serious problem.
